It can happen for others,
It can happen for me.
If they can do it,
I CAN DO IT.
Which is still my belief now: that IT CAN HAPPEN FOR ME.
But I have been feeling (for days) that something is still holding me "stuck".
During last night/this morning's meditations, I realised that I am still hampered by a (deeper) limiting belief:
"I can't do it".
It looks, at first glance, that this is (part of) the previous limiting belief and that the resulting new belief has or should have already resolved it (where it reads, "I CAN DO IT").
So what is going on ? Maybe the new belief didn't take hold?
But on looking back on that previous Belief Change Cycle work and the resultant new belief (as noted above), I realise what this latest realisation of the "I can't do it" belief means. It is as if my mind has served up this realisation because this really is a refining process.
Self Trust
This current "I can't do it" is very specifically dealing with my feelings of not being able to trust myself.
It is really saying:
They can do it
But I can't
- I don't trust that I am strong enough: if I get more bad news, I am not sure I have enough inner strength to stay strong and deal with it.
- I don't trust that I can be consistent enough in my practice (Dr Joe's work and meditations, Qi Cong, walking, diet, etc) because I have always felt and claimed how consistency was definitely not my strong point.
- I don't trust that I trust or believe enough for Dr Joe's kind of miracles to work; i.e. I don't have enough faith in myself to make it work.
- I don't trust that I have enough strength of mind to overcome daily "limiting programs" like making myself get up early to do the desired meditations; to take my scattered focus off social platforms and devices or any other distractions I normally give in to.
So, in a nutshell, the inner details of the limiting belief that has come up for examination and change is:
❌ I don't believe in myself that I have enough of the required faith, courage, will, consistency to create Health for myself and a new life. I am too weak, too inconsistent, too untrustworthy, too fickle, too fearful, to unconfident. ❌
But are these limiting beliefs even true?
I shall examine each point and then do a NLP Belief Change Cycle.
---
- ❌ I don't trust that I am strong enough: if I get more bad news, I am not sure I have enough inner strength to stay strong and deal with it.
I am not sure that is even true. Certainly in 2015 after my first diagnosis, I was much stronger than I could have ever believed was possible. I was certain if such a disease happened in my life, I would be a puddle of uselessness. So, I truly surprised myself.
So this limiting thought is shaky.

- ❌ I don't trust that I can be consistent enough in my practice (Dr Joe's work and meditations, Qi Cong, walking, diet, etc) because I have always felt and claimed how consistency was definitely not my strong point.
It is true that I have claimed I am inconsistent and that is why I fail in anything that requires consistency. But that is really a story I have been telling myself and others. Usually to get out of doing something or taking on anything I am not that keen on. Isn't that so?
Because look at my crochet ... something that started, with more discouragement than encouragement. And yet, 50+ years later, it is as strong a passion if not stronger than it ever was. And it is something I am totally consistent about. Maybe not at this time and for this length of period every single day. But consistent in my passion, interest, and time I devote to it.
And I even surprise myself each time I am in Malaysia: how almost without effort, I am consistent in good habits of early bedtimes, early rise times, few to zero coffee consumption.
And look at my diet: since decided to give up, even my very most favourite foods (birds nest, pork, beef, sugar in coffee, sweet foods), I have been very good and unwavering in my decision.
And then my previous bugbear and nemesis: smoking. I never thought I could do it. I could not even go through a day without smoking. And now it has been over 6 years! Consistenly!!!
So, hmmm ... maybe, even probable that I can actually be very consistent indeed!!!

- ❌ I don't trust that I trust or believe enough for Dr Joe's kind of miracles to work; i.e. I don't have enough faith in myself to make it work.
I don't have enough faith to make it work?
I think it is not that I don't have enough faith. I think the faith I have (in the possibility that it will work for me) is enough to make it work. I think the problem here is that I expect me to be perfect!!! I expect to be totally without doubts - at all times!!! That I am supposed to have a burning knowing that it will work, without a blimp or moment of doubt. And if I am not perfect or I have moments of doubts, then it means I don't have enough faith to make it work.
Which, patently, cannot be true. The testimonials on Dr Joe's website show clearly that no one is required to be perfect to be transformed. And what if those doubts that I have are challenges to be overcome so that I become even stronger? Or those doubts are my mind's way of seeking even better solutions? Or maybe I am just human?
If I didn't have enough faith, I would not have spent so much money to obtain the online course (POC); the meditations, the books. And to spend so much time and effort in reading, watching, doing everything Dr Joe (and others) talk about. The parts in me that believe must be much stronger than I am giving myself credit for.

- ❌ I don't trust that I have enough strength of mind to overcome daily "limiting programs" like making myself get up early to do the desired meditations; to take my scattered focus off social platforms and devices or any other distractions I normally give in to.
This is true. I may have many moments when I fail to overcome. But it does not mean that I stop trying. I WILL NOT GIVE UP. And each time I overcome, no matter on how small an issue, my "muscle" gets stronger. And each time I do, my genes get up-regulated a little, bit by bit. And it is a step forward to Becoming.
-------
Last but not least, what I think my mother thought of me:
I have already dealt with many aspects of this issue. Apparently many of my limiting self-concept is what I thought my mother thought of me: what I thought her actions and words seem to indicate. My low self-esteem and self-concept seems to be a mirror of (what I thought of) her thoughts.
But despite apparent, repeated evidences - in truth, I don't know what she really thought or felt or believed about me.
And even if she believed any of those things, I already know that in many ways, my mother had incorrect beliefs. That though she was a most wonderful and admirable person in ways I could never be, she was also very, very flawed. And feeling empathy, love, and compassion was not her forte at all.
