Quit Smoking Zyban Journey

A Quit Smoking journey with wavering doubts ..

As I mentioned in "Paul McKenna, NLP, Smoking, & Confidence", by a stroke of pure good fortune, my doctor has put me on a (normally) expensive course of Zyban tablets to help me quit the dreaded habit. The first prescription is for 30 tablets - to last about 2 weeks. Thereafter, I am to see the doctor again for progress checks and counseling if needed (I suppose).

Paul McKenna, NLP, Smoking, & Confidence

Paul McKenna .. does he work?

When I say, "does Paul McKenna work?", I mean of course, does his publicized programs work? Well, I am about to find out.

I have of course seen his ads on TV and listened to the derision of those around me when they hear his name. But then again, none of them have actually bought anything of his. They have, they claim, read how "dubious" he is ... in other words, a scam. But is this true?

Philosophy of Relationships

Some of these sayings were sent to me by a lovely, quirky, fun-loving friend of mine. In an email.

Self-Taught vs Formal Courses

Self-Taught vs Attending Courses

I sometimes find myself wondering if I should attend a course or if I can just find the information to teach myself. And which would be the better and maybe faster way to go?

I think there are pros and cons to both approaches. Certainly some people learn better via one avenue or the other. But I believe there are others like me who benefit via either way - albeit the results are sometimes different, depending on which approach has been taken.

I Want To Go Home

These words have been with me so long I can no longer remember when I first became consciously aware of them. And they still have the power to evoke the deepest longings in me.

Yesterday I saw the movie "Moon" - a science fiction with a strong story line. (A good review can be found at Moon: A Personal Movie Review)

Homeless. Nice Face.

Homeless. Nice Face

Walking towards
Saw his face
Thought "nice face"

Walked pass
Realized homeless man
Still nice face

It's his eyes
I thought
Sad though
Eyes that have had
a thousand fires dampened and crushed
but now has found some measure of acceptance

Selfishness or A Right?

Selfishness or A Right?

Yesterday I had the great pleasure of attending a live seminar held by The Dog Whisperer, Cesar Milan. This was a sell out event. In fact, as far as I could tell (from checking out the tickets availability on line before the show), it was a sell-out through out the country (Australia) and not just Sydney alone.

Beginning of shCREDO

in

Boy! I just wrote a whole first blog ... and was saying how tentative and even fearful I was in creating a blog entry. And then I wrote what I thought were some pretty deep and cool stuff. And guess what? Failed to save it and it has now all gone! sob!

"shCREDO" was not so much my idea but rather an idea that came to me. Was over 15 years ago. And it did make one short-lived manifestation on the web ... then my life got real messy and harried, and Poof! ... it was gone. "Life" took over with all its insistent attendant worries and responsibilities.
